The recipient of the Citizen of the Year award shall be a person whose contributions to the community best exemplify citizenship. The Clerk will accept written nominations accompanied by supporting material for the Citizen of the Year Award until October 31st of each year.
The Citizen of the Year shall be presented with a “Citizen of the Year Award” at the first meeting of the City Council in January and shall be the ‘Grand Marshall’ of the Victoria Day Parade in the year in which the award is presented. The Mayor of the City of Woodstock shall publicly announce the name of the person awarded.
