Public Health and Emergency Services of Oxford County is concerned with the health of the entire population of Oxford County. We are a part of the continuum of health care and our functions are complementary to those of the conventional medical care system. Recognizing that it is always better to prevent than to cure, our role is to provide programs aimed at disease prevention. Nevertheless, many of our public health programs also involve secondary prevention, and thus help to reduce the prevalence of preventable disease.
